Introduction Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor (IMT), is a rarer neoplastic entity with a multitude of characteristics.1,2 It was first described by Brunn in 1939, as a tumor with both neoplastic and nonneoplastic features.3 A spectrum of lesions were addressed by the umbrella term “Inflammatory pseudo tumor” until the term IMT was coined by Umiker and Iversion.4 Beforehand, a diverse nomenclature has been applied such as fibrous xanthoma, plasma cell granuloma, benign myofibroblastoma and inflammatory myofibroblastic proliferation.1
